Call for Industry Panels and Seminars

As part of the Industry Program, IEEE GLOBECOM 2017 will be hosting a series of industry panels and seminars and invites the submission of such proposals. Industry panels and seminars should emphasize current topics of particular interest to the industry targeting near-term implementations in communications and networking including 5G, mmWave, Massive MIMO, SDN/NFV, connected cars/autonomous driving, tactile Internet, full duplex, optical fiber communication, visible light communication, etc. The organization should be focused around technical presentations, demonstrations, keynotes and panel discussion that encourage the participation of attendees in active discussion. Industry workshops will take place on either Monday, 4 December 2017 or Friday, 8 December 2017.

Industry Panels and Seminars Proposal Format
Each workshop proposal (maximum 3 pages) must include:
  1. Title of the panel or seminar
  2. Length of the panel or seminar: Half‐day, Full‐day
  3. Names, addresses, and a short biography (up to 200 words) of the organizers
  4. A brief description (1 page max) of the technical issues that the workshop will address, emphasizing its timeliness
  5. Names of potential participants, such as program committee members and invited speakers
  6. Planned format of the workshop, such as number of technical presentations, demonstrations, keynotes, etc.
  7. If appropriate, a description of past versions of the workshop, including number of presentations, number of attendees, etc.
Papers and presentation material submitted for an industry workshop will not be published in IEEE Xplore, but will be available through the IEEE GLOBECOM 2017 homepage.

Proposal Submission
Proposals should be submitted via E-mail to the Industry Panels and Seminars Chairs given below with subject of “GC2017 Industry Workshop Proposal (Title of your workshop)” by the proposal deadline 1 June 2017.
